In the latest years, Intellectual Property has become very important, especially in the process of business globalization. Moreover, more and more companies are moving in international environments in which it is essential to consider some aspects of the protection of copyright, trademarks and patents.

The Latin America IPR SME Helpdesk together with the Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will host a training session that is aimed at all those companies interested in doing business in Latin America or are willing to do so.

The main issues concerning the protection of Intellectual Property to bear in mind when internationalizing your business in these countries will be explained, with special focus on Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Mexico.

Moreover, attendees will have the chance to be assisted by the Intellectual Property Experts during the bilateral meetings*.

About the Speaker

Mr. Gilberto Macías is an Intellectual Property lawyer at Clarke, Modet & Cº Professional experience of over 16 years in the field of Intellectual Property. Specializing in the management, operation and defense of intangible heritage with special focus on Trademarks and Designs EU, designations of origin and geographical indications, collective, certification and warranty brands. Currently, he is the Coordinator of EU Trade Marks and Community Designs Department of Clarke, Modet & Cº.
